ABOUT RHIANNON

Rhiannon is riding a career trajectory most artists under 30 could only dream of. Her latest feature film, Rip Tide, features ‘Jessie’ star Debby Ryan in the lead role and is set for national release on September 14 this year, followed by a worldwide release in 2018. While some may see her rise to rubbing shoulders with Disney royalty as rapid, having only learnt how to work a 5D Camera in her bedroom via YouTube videos the night before shooting her first feature in 2015 (!), it provides a perfect example of where tenacity, grit and bravery can take you.

Rhiannon’s journey as an artist has moved through music (she has both a Bachelor and Masters in Composition from the Australian Institute of Music), Cinematography (she’s credited as DOP of three – count them: 3 feature films) and now as an established and respected Film Director. But listing these achievements does little to capture the long hours, confidence to pursue opportunities, and determination to stay true to her creative integrity that has been required to see each of her projects succeed.

And underpinning each day is a constant reminder of the condition that has shaped Rhiannon into the person she is today. At the age of 13, Rhiannon fell from her beloved horse Shakarah and fractured her spine in several places, leaving her fortunate not to be in a wheelchair for life but instead with virtually untreatable chronic pain. While Rhiannon doesn’t let the condition define her, she appreciates that the skills she has had to develop to manage her emotions and mindset throughout the unrelenting physical imposition on her daily life have proven applicable when pursuing a career within a difficult, and at times unforgiving, industry.

We are incredibly excited to welcome Rhiannon as a FUEL Extraordinary Woman and can’t wait for her to share her incredible story and talents with our Girl Shaped Flames!
